The Hioki PW8001 is an advanced power analyzer engineered for high-precision measurements in modern power conversion systems. Combining eight fully synchronized power channels with integrated motor analysis, it enables simultaneous evaluation of dual drivetrains or complete system-level power studies in complex electric drive applications. With basic accuracy down to ±0.03%, a bandwidth of up to 5 MHz, and a 1 ms data update rate, the PW8001 delivers stable and highly accurate measurement results even under rapidly changing load conditions.

The PW8001 can be equipped with two types of high-precision input modules to match specific application requirements. The high-bandwidth U7005 module offers top-tier accuracy with a 15 MHz sampling rate, ideal for SiC/GaN-based inverter systems and inductor loss measurements under load. For high-voltage applications, the U7001 module supports up to 1500 V DC, 2.5 MHz bandwidth, and CAT II safety rating—perfect for industrial motor drives, wind-power converters, and PV systems.

In combination with Hioki’s extensive range of high-accuracy, high-bandwidth current sensors, shunts, and direct-connection current units, the PW8001 can measure everything from small electronic devices to large-scale three-phase systems operating at very high currents. Automatic Phase Shift Correction ensures accurate phase-angle measurement between voltage and current even at high frequencies and low power factors.

The unique Power Spectrum Analysis function provides full insight into power distribution across the analyzer’s entire frequency range, offering essential data for the development of high-efficiency drivetrains and advanced power electronics. Additional capabilities—such as wideband harmonic analysis, motor analysis, and high-frequency loss evaluation—make the PW8001 a complete solution for research, product development, and verification testing.

The PW8001 also supports optical synchronization between two units, expanding the system to 16 simultaneous power channels with fully synchronized sampling—ideal for multi-axis motor systems, complex test setups, or total efficiency calculations.
