The HIOKI PW3360-21 is a portable three-phase power and energy logger designed for voltage measurements from 90 V to 780 V AC at 50/60 Hz. It supports system configurations ranging from single-phase two-wire to three-phase four-wire and is suitable for use in factories, commercial buildings, and residential facilities. Compared to the PW3360-20, this model additionally offers harmonic analysis up to the 40th order. The built-in SD card slot supports memory cards up to 8 GB, enabling stand-alone long-term logging of energy consumption and demand.
The instrument provides high precision with a basic accuracy of ±0.4% for active power (excluding the accuracy of the current sensor). This precision enables reliable evaluation of energy use and supports the identification of energy losses and efficiency improvement opportunities.
With the PW3360-21, harmonic components up to the 40th order can be measured for voltage, current, and power. This feature is unique to the PW3360-21 and not available on the PW3360-20. Harmonic results can be displayed as bar graphs, numeric lists, or phase angles for each order, providing clear and detailed analysis options. Harmonic values can also be logged at the same intervals as standard measurement data and analyzed further on a PC using the optional SF1001 Power Logger Viewer software. This capability is especially valuable in facilities with motor drives or large IT infrastructure, where harmonic distortion may affect performance, energy efficiency, and overall system reliability.
To perform measurements, the PW3360-21 requires AC current sensors with BNC connectors. These sensors are not included and must be ordered separately. By selecting the appropriate sensor, users can match the measurement range to their needs, from very low currents to several kiloamperes.
The PW3360-21 can record both load current and leakage current, making it useful for both energy analysis and electrical safety inspections. Load current logging helps assess the consumption of machines, panels, or entire facilities and identify inefficiencies. Leakage current logging can reveal insulation deterioration, wiring faults, or aging equipment and is important for reducing fire risk and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Together, these functions help detect inefficiencies and potential failures before they occur, improving safety and system reliability.
The included Z1006 AC adapter enables operation from a standard outlet. If no outlet is available, the instrument can instead be powered by the optional PW9002 Battery Set or the PW9003 Voltage Line Power Adapter. The PW9002 attaches to the back of the unit and provides up to 6 hours of operation when fully charged. The PW9003 connects directly to the measured line and supplies power from it, ensuring continuous operation as long as the line remains energized. These flexible options make the instrument suitable for both fixed installations and mobile field use.
The PW3360-21 is designed for energy consultants, facility technicians, and service engineers who need a reliable, safe, and portable instrument for energy monitoring. Its compact design allows installation even in tight spaces such as switchboards and connection cabinets. The instrument supports real-time monitoring via LAN and integrates with the HIOKI Gennect One software for continuous energy analysis. Whether for short-term audits or long-term monitoring, the PW3360-21 delivers precise data to support energy savings and improved operational efficiency.
