The DAS1800 can be configured for a wide variety of applications with slots for 10 input modules, each supporting 4 or 8 measurement channels. Data acquisition can be performed from any sensor with a voltage or current output (with shunt), or by directly measuring voltage, resistance, or temperature using thermocouples or Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs).
For capturing rapidly changing signals and transients, the DAS1800 can simultaneously measure and record up to 40 channels at 1 MSa/s per channel and continuously stream the data directly to the Solid-State Drive (SSD). The base unit weighs approximately 15 lbs (6.8 kg), making it the lightest all-in-one system in its class. The DAS1800 features a large 15.6" Full HD touch screen display for easy setup and visualizing real-time or recorded data. The optional internal battery provides up to 3.5 hours of battery operation for field testing.
Advanced Synchronization and Network Capabilities
The DAS1800 enhances its flexibility by offering advanced synchronization options—critical for applications where measurement data from multiple units must be correlated (e.g., in power grid testing and field trials).
- IRIG (Hardware Option B122 / B126): Provides precise time synchronization via a coaxial cable. The device automatically detects the IRIG signal (1 kHz modulated) and initiates the synchronization process.
- GPS (Hardware Option): Devices equipped with this option feature a dedicated SMA connector on top for connecting the supplied GPS antenna.
- PTPv2 (Software License): Precision Time Protocol (IEEE 1588v2) enables precise time synchronization over the Ethernet network. When activated, this feature automatically synchronizes the device with a PTP source on the network.
New base unit versions are available: DAS1800-SYNC and DAS1800-SYNC-BAT.
User Interface and Software
The highly intuitive user interface of the DAS1800 makes it easy to use with time-saving features such as one-finger scrolling, pinch and zoom, and a built-in sensor library. View measurements as real-time waveforms and numerical values on customizable dashboards. With the latest firmware, you can now also add markers during recording and utilize features for Network Attached Storage (NAS).
To view data on a PC, the free DASpro software can be downloaded. For remote control, the DAS1800 supports web server and VNC connections.
